How to Plan an Anniversary Party
Celebrate your years together with a warm and elegant evening.
An anniversary party tells the story of a couple. Whether it is an intimate dinner or a large celebration, the best ones feel personal and look back at the years together.

Step 1
Decide the style and guest list
Choose between a small dinner and a big party. For milestones such as 25 or 50 years, many couples invite family and their original wedding party. Use the traditional color or material of the year as your inspiration, such as silver for 25 and gold for 50.
Tip: Invite guests who have been part of the couple's story.

Step 2
Choose the place
Think about going back to where it began, such as the original reception hall or a favorite restaurant. For larger groups, look for an elegant room with space for a toast and some dancing. Check access for older relatives.
Tip: Ask about seats near the entrance for guests who walk slowly.

Step 3
Set a romantic table
Low light, simple flowers and candles make any room feel special. Keep centerpieces low so that guests can talk across the table. Add old wedding photos on the tables, or in a frame by the door.
Tip: Dim the lights once everyone has sat down.

Step 4
Plan the toast
Pour a glass for everyone just before the toast. Ask one or two people who know the couple well to speak for a few minutes each, and make sure the couple gets a moment to reply. A short slideshow makes this moment even stronger.
Tip: Allow two to three minutes per speaker.

Step 5
Choose the cake
Recreate the design of the original wedding cake, or pick the couple's favorite flavor. Add the number of years in a topper or written in icing. Cutting the cake again together makes a lovely photo.
Tip: Bring a wedding picture to show the baker.

Step 6
Finish with evening lighting
If the weather allows, take the party outside for dessert and dancing. String lights over a patio or garden feel relaxed and romantic. Play the couple's first-dance song to end the evening.
Tip: Ask the venue about outdoor noise rules and closing time.
